Maintenance Engineer

The job holder will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all facilities and equipment are fit for purpose and well maintained.
  • Providing a day to day maintenance support service (preventive and reactive) to all areas of the site.
  • Making or arranging and overseeing repairs, adjustments or improvements to machines, facilities and equipment.
  • Varied duties including machine maintenance work, cleaning, plumbing and electrical works, general DIY tasks.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a time served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with certification
  • Display a strong can do attitude that can go one step beyond and the ability to be self-motivated and work on own initiative.
  • Have a good understanding / knowledge of all different types of CNC machines
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Good electrical and electronic knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
  • Basic Microsoft, PC knowledge and e-mail procedures

Aqua Sphere Field Sales Rep – South Midlands and South East

Job description:  Field Sales Executive 

We are currently looking for a dynamic Field Sales Executive -  to manage our sporting goods account base for the South Midlands and South East regions.

You will develop primarily the “sporting Goods sector” customer relationships, maximizing coverage of the iconic Michael Phelps (MP) performance swim brand as well as the Aqua Sphere premium swim fitness brand and other associated Aqua Lung Sport collections.  The ability to work with budgets and drive relevant product distribution to align with company expectations.


  • To achieve key sales targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Connect with buyers via set product presentations, marketing meetings, order book management and developing strong long term customer relationships
  • Monthly store visits with key objectives, findings and result, to be reported back at our monthly Team meeting
  • Possess an up to date knowledge on market industry and all accounts responsible for, along with knowing and understanding our competitors
  • To achieve distribution in line with our current sporting goods segmentation
  • Effective management of the customer order book to ensure product is delivered within the ordered timescale
  • To scrutinize sales and margin performance versus target and take appropriate action to remedy any short falls
  • To help promote and positively develop Aqua Lung, Aqua Sphere and MP swim brands at all times


  • Experience of working remotely across a territory

Development & Production Support Engineer

Permanent, full time.
Reporting to the CI & Engineering Support team Leader the job holder will be fully responsible for provision of Engineering support to all areas of the business to continually improve methods and processes, while increasing quality, repeatability and reducing costs and health and safety risks.

Main Duties to include :

  • Study, design, build and improve capable process engineering within the business, which includes Automated and Manual methods.
  • To validate the engineering success of improvement for both new and existing products and processes.
  • New Product Development, the introduction of new products and cost reduction projects.
  • To be innovative and creative and realise the objectives of the designer or brief by producing parts and prototypes by whatever means necessary
  • To develop new capable production techniques and methods to accurately produce new products and designs in line with the prototypes and design intent.
  • To design and set up meaningful and purposeful tests and test rigs within ethical and health and safety legislation and requirements. To interpret, evaluate and act upon the results and data.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent and Pro-active Problem Solver.
  • Be an excellent all round CNC Machinist
  • Hold a Mechatronics or Production Engineering Qualification, preferable Diploma or above.
  • Have experience working with Lean Manufacturing Tools and Techniques.
  • Have a good understanding of instrumentation and controls which includes pneumatics.
  • Be methodical and analytical.
  • Have an excellent eye for detail.

Alternate Air Source Safety

The Apeks XTX range of regulators are the world’s first regulators designed to exceed the European standard in Auxiliary Emergency Breathing Systems.

More officially known as EN250:2014 including annex A. It’s a bit of a mouthful, but it’s important.
An Auxiliary Emergency Breathing System (commonly known as an Octopus or alternate air source when connected to the primary regulator) is a fundamental part of any diver’s kit, providing an emergency backup demand valve in case of primary demand valve failure and acting as an alternative source of air for a dive buddy.

The proposed minimum safety standards only require an alternate air source to be tested to 30 metres (98ft).
Apeks recognises that emergencies can happen beyond these limits and we are the first regulator manufacturer in the world to design, have independently tested and be awarded CE approval for alternate air source products which far exceed the proposed minimum requirements.
This means that an Apeks alternate air source matches the performance of the primary demand regulator that it is intended to work with, tested to depths of 50 metres (164ft) and in water temperatures below 10°C (50°F) where stated.

You can be confident that in an emergency or an out of air situation, your Apeks regulator can cope with the extra demand of your buddy breathing from your alternate air source and safely supply air to you both.


You are at 200 metres on a wreck. Then again you might not be, but it’s nice to know that Apeks regulators are extensively tested to perform at those depths and beyond.

Managing the Environmental Way - ISO 14001:2004

Apeks Marine Equipment recognises the impact that our manufacturing processes could have on the environment. As champions of the underwater world we have always had an environmental ethos and a keen understanding and appreciation of environmental issues.
